Will it work on my device?
Short answer: almost certainly yes. Everly is designed to work on the devices your family already has, with no apps to install and no special setup.
If you can browse the internet,
Everly works.
No downloads. No app store. Just open the link we send you and start talking.
Best experience
Everly works beautifully on:
- iPad — our most recommended device for elderly parents. Larger screen, easy to use, and naturally suited for long conversations.
- iPhone — works perfectly for parents who are comfortable with their phone.
- Mac or PC computer — great for family members reviewing memories and the family view.
Also works on
- Android phones and tablets — full functionality, same beautiful experience.
- Chromebook — works well in any modern browser.
What you need
- An internet connection — Wi-Fi or cellular data both work.
- A modern web browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. The default browser on any device made in the last few years will work.
- A working microphone — every modern phone, tablet, and laptop has one built in. The first time your parent uses Everly the browser will ask permission to use the microphone — they just tap "Allow."
- Speakers or headphones — to hear Everly's voice. Built-in speakers work fine.
For the family member
If you are the family member setting up Everly for a parent, you only need an email address and any device with internet access. Setup takes a few minutes. Once done, you send your parent a personal link they can open on their own device — no account or password required for them.
For the parent or grandparent
The person using Everly does not need to create an account, remember a password, or install anything. They just tap the link a family member sends them, enter a simple 4 digit PIN, and start talking. We designed it this way because we know technology can be intimidating — Everly should feel like picking up the phone.
